Hybridoma Production Studies

Hybridoma Production allows users to specify the details of their hybridoma studies

hyb1

To create a new study, click on “Register Study” in the Hybridoma Production page of the Discovery Module and submit the resulting form.

Click on the ID in the index page to be directed to the Hybridoma Study details page. Details pages allow the user to view all metadata associated with the study as well as tag, attach, and comment on the study.

Subjects

To register the subjects of a hybridoma study, the user must first create a number of treatment groups. Click “Add Treatment Groups” and submit the number of treatment groups to generate.

Next, click the “Add Subjects” button, and register any number of subjects - specifying the Treatment Group and species at a minimum, with Strain, Sex, and Age in weeks being optional specifications. Users can download an Excel template which can then be edited externally and imported for quick load of many subjects at once.

Newly registered subjects will be assigned a new cage and index in that cage - these can be edited in the grid if desired.

Each subject has its own comments section, found in the Comments column of the Subjects grid..

Clicking the Update Mortality button will load an import form which allows users to specify the date of death and mortality type of each subject associated with the study. Note that the user can specify Alive or simply clear a cell if only some of the subjects mortality information needs to be updated.

Schedule

hyb3

The Schedule section allows the user to specify the schedule of dosing and operations on each of the subjects involved in the study. By default, the schedule will be in Viewing mode, so to make changes, click on the dropdown and select Editing.

Once in editing mode, the user will first need to specify the dosing and operations to be performed - Click on Dosing to specify a material (based on the Materials specified for the Study during registration), adjuvant, dose amount/units to be administered (as well as the color of the cells in the schedule), or to add/remove/edit existing dosing specifications. Click on Operation Types to select an operation and specify the subjects on which the operation should be performed.

After the dosing and/or operation are defined, users can specify the dates in the schedule simply by clicking individual cells in the schedule. The Recurrence button can be used to automatically populate the schedule for a given dosing/operation based on a defined cadence, i.e. once every 2 days, stopping in 2 weeks.

Click Save to confirm the edits before leaving the page.

Use the “Perform Dosing and Operations” functionality to execute the actions which are specified for any subject on the specified day. Any Extract Tissue operations which are performed will result in a sample automatically being registered (these samples are then used in Clone Plate registration).

Tissue Samples

The tissue samples section displays all samples associated with the given study - these are either registered automatically as the result of executing an Extract Tissue operation, or by manually registration using the Register Tissue Samples button.

Clicking Register Tissue Samples will open a form which allows the user to specify the tissue type, Donor (subject), anatomical region, laterality, directionality, totality, and the collection timestamp.
